Dirac cone in α-graphdiyne: a first-principles study
: We investigate the Dirac cone in α-graphdiyne, which is a predicted flat one-atom-thick allotrope of carbon using first-principles calculations. α-graphdiyne is derived from graphene where two acetylenic linkages (-C ≡C-) are inserted into the single bonds (-C-C-). Thus, α-graphdiyne possesses a larger lattice constant which subsequently affects its electronic properties. Band structures show...
متن کاملImplications of boron doping on electrocatalytic activities of graphyne and graphdiyne families: a first principles study.
Dispersive force corrected density functional theory is used to map the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) kinetics of six kinds of graphyne (Gy) and graphdiyne (Gdy) systems (namely αGy, βGy, γGy, δGy, 6,6,12Gy, RGy and Gdy) with substitutional boron (B) atom doping. To this end, the most favorable sites for B doping of each structures are determined by comparing their formation energies and then...

متن کاملA first principles study of CO2 adsorption on α-SiO2(001) surfaces.
In this work, using first principles calculations, an analysis of CO2 interaction with cleaved and reconstructed α-SiO2(001) surfaces was performed. We showed that CO2 could strongly interact with a cleaved surface forming CO3-like configurations. Here, the binding energy per CO2 molecule depends strongly on CO2 surface coverage and can reach -2.35 eV. Despite this, even with CO2 molecules, the...
متن کاملElectronic Properties Close to Dirac Cone in Two-Dimensional Organic Conductor α-(BEDT-TTF)2I3
Abstract. A zero-gap state (ZGS) has been found in a bulk system of two-dimensional organic conductor, α-(BEDT-TTF)2I3 salt which consists of four sites of donor molecules in a unit cell. In the present paper, the characteristic of the ZGS is analyzed in detail and the electronic properties are examined in the vicinity of the Dirac point where the conduction and valence bands degenerate to form...
